Jessica Loving
Jessica Loving (b. 1983) is a painter based in Lakewood, Colo. She graduated from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Fla., in 2005 with a Fine Art degree. Originally from Colorado, Loving moved back in 2006 and immediately became active with the Denver art scene. She is a co-founder of Sync Gallery, and has been involved with NEXT Gallery, EDGE, Sync, and Core New Art Space.
Light drives Loving's abstract impressionist artworks, which shift in response to the seasonal rhythms of the natural environment. She is inspired by diurnal and nocturnal skies. Her work dissolves all representational roots and floats in the ether of color and dense atmosphere. Each painting is built by layers of additive and subtractive processes.
Each painting is built by layers of additive and subtractive processes. Loving uses light-reactive glazes and materials to further interact with the surrounding light. Crushed stone and glass are suspended in the final layers, giving the surface a crystalline finish and allowing the work to interact with the changing light of the day.
Her large-scale mixed media paintings are part of collections worldwide — private and corporate. Several of her works are showcased in high-end resorts, hotels, and spas around the United States.
