Chromatic Visions: Explorations in Contemporary Abstraction

On View 2/8/24 through 4/21/24

Chromatic Visions: Explorations in Contemporary Abstraction presents the works of four contemporary Colorado-based abstract painters, each contributing to the ongoing discourse surrounding abstraction in the context of 21st-century artistic practices. Drawing upon diverse influences, these artists challenge conventional notions of form, line, and color. Utilizing gestural abstraction to convey emotional depth and psychological nuances, the exhibition invites viewers to reconsider abstraction as a pertinent visual language in the digital age.

A close examination of sensation and emotion, the conscious and subconscious, revelation and concealment, and the natural and man-made, guides these artists through intentional and intuitive mark making. Color is given special consideration as each artist explores their own range of approaches to communicate the intangible, while inviting viewers to draw their own conclusions.
